Exploring Andros Bahamas
Featuring an enormous creek structure, mangrove-choked, bights, inlets and bays, Andros of the is the largest island. The vast wealth and attractions in Andros is still unchartered and known as the island that is least explored.
This exclusively means that your adventures while visiting this island are moments with more tree ducks than party animals. Aside from that, you will also be sharing a restricted and unspoken moment with the legendary residents of the island.
Andros has the reputation of having tiny creatures with three toes, three fingers and red eyes. They also believe anyone who sees creatures such these gets a lifetime of good luck. In addition, the island is known to have its own dragon-like sea monster named Lusca.
Many years ago, Spaniards called Andros the Holy Spirit Island or La Isla del Espiritu Santo. When people started moving to Andros, settlements like Nichols Creek, Mastic Point and Staniard Creek began to shrink. When the settlement began to overcrowd, people started migrating to other places on the island like Fresh Creek and Red Bay. In the beginning, early settlers tried to develop the land of Andros Bahamas. Nonetheless, since the land lacked productive soil, people began to undertake tanother style of trade.
Island residents mastered trades like fishing, fabric crafting, sponging, woodcarving and basket weaving. These unique talents of Andros inhabitants turned out to be properous ones. These are perfect examples of a flourishing culture in the Red Bay community of Andros.
Off the coast of Red Bay's lucid sandy beaches, ocean harvesting is what takes up most of the time of the natives. The sponges endure a exclusive cleaning and drying method, preparing to be traded worldwide. Sponge fishing is one of the most important means of profit for island residents.
Andros also holds the second largest reef in the vicinity of western hemisphere. This is why it is extremely popular to divers because some of the world's deepest diving cave expeditions are established here. In its internal waterways, one can find the perfect place to catch bonefish. Andros is therefore known as the bone fishing capital of the world.
Scuba diving, bird watching and snorkeling are all first-rate activities on the island. Casual is always the trend for Andros Bahamas. The unleashed island has so much to offer beyond its size and mysterious paradise.
