Bahamas Paradise Island

Bahamas Paradise Island is located near New Providence, and the two islands are connected by a toll bridge between Paradise Island and Nassau Harbor. Paradise Island in the was once known as Hog Island and was a major site for farming in the Bahamas. Hog Island first became Paradise Island in the when the island was purchased by Huntington Hartford in 1959.  Hartford was the first entrepreneur to begin developing Paradise Island and built the first major hotel on the site and was also responsible for obtaining a gambling license for Paradise Island.

Paradise Island is still the most expensive piece of real estate in the Bahamas, and in general, guests find that a vacation there is more expensive than on other islands.  A villa or a moderately priced hotel in Paradise Island  can be found with a little searching however. Paradise Island can’t be beat, though, for having so much to do in one small place.  Paradise Island features a few of the most exclusive luxury resorts in the Bahamas, including the renowned Atlantis Resort.

For the most part Paradise Island hotels are actually resorts, and many are all inclusive hotels on Paradise Island.  Most of the hotels on the island are classy, posh affairs.  A few of the hotels also feature some excellent restaurants and even casinos.  All inclusive hotels on Paradise Island account for the bulk of resorts and luxury accommodations there.
